Island Silba, 2 stone houses
Two interconnected stone houses, one from 15. (1499.) and other from 18. (1756.) century. They are situated in the middle of this peculiar island (also called Paradise island) which is situated between city Zadar and island Mali Lošinj. Houses are surrounded with mediterranean garden (figs, oranges, lemons, etc.) of 730 sq m. They are completely renovated with solar system of heating and cooling. Houses has 200 sq m of living space, 100 sq m of attic, porch of 40 sq m, terrace of 14 sq m and cellar. In the garden there are two new cisterns with capacity of 75 cubic meter.
Island Silba is populated since Romans. It it mentioned in the 9. century by the byzantine emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus.
In the 18. century there were 98 sailing trading ships. Today that is an island of 250 inhabitants, there are no hotels nor industry - there are no cars, motorcycles, and during summer are even bicycles forbidden.
Nearby city Zadar per year has around 3000 sunny hours so it can be compared with the sunniest island Hvar, California...
